Baked & Wired
Baked & Wired isn’t what you’d expect to find in Georgetown, where one-bedroom townhouses sell for upwards of a million dollars and people casually hang Picassos in their foyers. It’s hip, playful, and unstuffy, serving up some of the best coffee in DC. Though there is a long list of baked goods and sweet treats (the ice cream “sammies” are particularly intriguing), people come here for the cupcakes. Their huge cupcakes come in fun flavors like Razmanian Devil, Uniporm Rainho, and Almond Orangesicle. They also have a vegan and a gluten-free option; both are excellent.
There are two lines: one for cupcakes, one for coffee. The coffee line is usually much shorter, so don’t get stuck waiting for cupcakes if you’re just there for a dirty chai (and trust me- you want a dirty chai).
